Vanny, our newest male, and the other boys have to get along, because come winter time, we can’t have him out in the pasture by himself. He thinks he likes it out there alone, but even if he does, we don’t like trekking all the way down there to feed, water and clean. So, a few days ago, Mom let the boys and Vanny out into turnout together to see what the herd dynamics would be like. The results were not too surprising, actually. Bravado threw DOWN!

- Bravado: “I don’t think I like you. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s your ears.” Vannie: “The little one with the mean eyes is looking at me.”

- Bravado: “Now I’m SURE I don’t like you. Back it up!” Vanny: “Wait, what?”

- Vanny: “Well. They sure are making themselves at home in my shed. I guess that is ok.”

- Vanny: “What is that over there?! I’m going to stare at it.” Tuscany: “Ooo! I wanna see!”

- Vanny: “No way! I’m looking over here now, so you can’t!” Tuscany: “Aaaaaaaaaaa! I’m a weenie!” Bravado, in the foreground: “Hey, ugly! Are you causing trouble? I don’t allow anyone to cause trouble.”

- Bravado: “Don’t you dare! I will spit in your face so much if you even think about being rude! I am the enforcer!” Vanny: “Well, I’m bigger!”

- Bravado: “I’m not through with you. I haven’t even started with you. I’m going to turn you green with partially digested grass goo!” Vanny: “I will smoosh you like a bug.” Tripoli: “Aaaaa! I’m a weenie!”
After quite a bit of flying spit, Dad broke it up with the hose. The boys went back to their paddock and Vanny went back to his, without a clear victor emerging from this short skirmish for dominance. But this is a tale which shall soon be told…

Me neither, actually! I’ve never met Cici. Or Vanny. And I have no idea how to spell Mars*****’s name. I think I usually use “Marsy” but your way looks more French, so I think I’ll adopt it.
Aah my heart goes out to him. It’s so hard to mix in, isn’t it. I hope they accept him soon.
It seems to be getting better for him. Bravado is a bit of an enforcer, but he’s not mean. He just wants everyone to follow the rules. Vanny is very much a dominant male, and he likes to be bossier than Bravado will put up with.
